Ralph Branca (Brooklyn Dodgers) and Bobby Thomson (New York Giants) are forever linked in baseball history due to "The Shot Heard 'Round the World," a game-winning home run hit by Bobby Thomson against Ralph Branca in the 1951 National League pennant playoff game. The home run, which secured the pennant for the New York Giants over the Brooklyn Dodgers, has been the subject of much debate and scrutiny regarding potential sign-stealing by the Giants.
